Description

IC698CHS009 GE Fanuc Front or Rear Mounted Rack is a 9-slot I/O rack designed for the Rx7i PACsystem series, supporting both front and rear mounting configurations. It offers broad compatibility, working with all Rx7i CPUs and I/O devices, as well as 90-70 series I/O and VME modules. Key features include slot sensing functionality, which enables software-based configuration and eliminates the need for DIP switches or jumpers for I/O addressing. The rack also provides automatic daisy-chaining of interrupt acknowledgment and bus grant signals without slot jumpers, and supports Rx7i power plug-ins.

The rack features a structured slot layout: slots 1 to 8 are 20 mm wide, supporting only single-slot modules; slot 9 is 40.6 mm wide, accommodating double-width modules. Slot 1 is exclusively reserved for CPUs, while the 61 mm wide “slot 0” is dedicated to power modules, compatible with 100-watt and 350-watt rated power supplies. Each module connector on the backplane is spaced 0.8 inches (20.3 mm) apart, with single-width modules fitting one slot and double-width modules occupying two backplane slots. With approximate dimensions of 283 x 320 x 190 mm (height x width x depth), the rack is classified as an “open device” and must be installed in an IP54-rated enclosure. Optional fan assemblies are supported, requiring an additional 9 inches (23 cm) of space between racks if installed.
