Description

The GE FANUC IC698CHS017 I/O Rack is a 17-slot rear-mount I/O rack designed for the Rx7i PAC system series. It features a VME64 backplane that delivers speeds nearly 4 times faster than standard VME systems, and is compatible with all standard VME modules, including 90-70 series, VME, and Rx7i modules. The rack has built-in slot sensing functionality, eliminating the need for extra jumpers or DIP switches for I/O reference addressing, simplifying module configuration. It supports higher wattage power supplies and Rx7i AC power plug-ins, meeting the power demands of high-performance setups. As an open-design rack, it must be installed in an enclosure with IP54 or higher protection rating for proper operation in industrial environments. The rack is a front-to-back device with module connectors spaced 0.8 inches (20.3 mm) apart, compatible with both single-width and double-width modules. Slot 0 is designated for the system power supply, slot 1 for the CPU, and the remaining 15 slots can be used for any combination of supported modules. Its physical dimensions are 11.15 inches (283 mm) in height, 19 inches (483 mm) in width, and 7.5 inches (190 mm) in depth, with a requirement of 9 inches (23 cm) of space between racks for cooling fans, which may be needed when certain modules are installed.
