As part of the ControlEdge PLC line, it is Honeywell’s first controller supporting the company’s IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) framework, designed to enable seamless connectivity across all levels of process and business operations to optimize operational and maintenance efficiency. This CPU integrates tightly with multi-vendor devices and systems, and pairs with Experion® to deliver secure, reliable connections. It features an open-protocol design that allows seamless integration with any SCADA system and PlantCruise systems, forming a unified control solution. The supporting PlantCruise platform is highly scalable, with each server capable of supporting up to 5000 controllers, with further expansion possible via additional servers. The ControlEdge 900 series also includes built-in cybersecurity modules and supports protocols like OPC UA, enhancing interoperability with diverse instruments, equipment, and software.
