Description

The BENTLY NEVADA 125744-02 Rack Interface Module (RIM) is a core component of the Bently Nevada 3500/20 series monitoring system, serving as the primary interface for 3500 racks. Designed to act as a bridge between the system and external devices, its key functions include configuring the entire rack, retrieving mechanical operational data, and communicating with external communication processors. It supports communication with compatible Bently Nevada external processors such as TDXnet, TDIX, and DDIX, using a proprietary protocol for rack configuration and data retrieval.

This module features a modular design for simplified installation and maintenance, and must be installed in rack slot 1, adjacent to the power supply. While it provides shared functions for the entire rack, it is not part of the critical monitoring path, so it does not impact the proper normal operation of the overall monitoring system. Each 3500 rack requires one such module, and a TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) version is available for TMR applications, which adds “monitor channel comparison” functionality beyond standard RIM features.

Technical specifications include a power consumption of 4.75 watts, an RS232 serial data interface with a 38.4k baud rate, support for RS232/RS422 serial communication for I/O modules, and internal modem communication with a maximum 38.4k baud rate and a standard 14.4k baud rate.
