Description

The Triconex 2101 CX Controller Module is a high-performance safety control system designed for reliable, continuous operation in industrial settings. It offers exceptional flexibility, supporting both centralized and distributed I/O deployments that can be modified without halting operations, allowing systems to scale and adapt to changing requirements while maintaining safety. Built with high integrity and fault tolerance, it maintains SIL3 certification even under fault conditions, with transparent built-in diagnostics and redundancy management that ensures uninterrupted performance.

This module delivers powerful processing capabilities: each controller can handle up to 15 I/O racks, 90 I/O modules, and 2,800 physical I/Os, with a peer-to-peer network supporting up to 254 nodes and managing over 750,000 TMR I/O channels. It features fast scan times starting at 20 milliseconds, can store up to 60,000 Sequence of Events (SOE) records per controller, and includes advanced I/O monitoring and control functions, with 1-millisecond SOE timestamps on I/O modules. The system’s architecture includes a triple modular redundant (TMR) design with three main processor modules on a single backplane, plus communication modules that act as three-to-one interfaces for industry-standard protocols, with support for redundant or independent communication ports for enhanced reliability.
