FCP270 | Foxboro | Field Control Processor
Description
The FCP270 is a high-performance field control processor from the Foxboro I/A series, designed for industrial automation applications. It features a redundant, fault-tolerant design, flexible communication support, and robust control capabilities to meet complex industrial control requirements. Key technical specifications include a 24V DC input voltage, maximum power consumption of 8.5W for non-fault-tolerant modules, and operating temperature ranges of -40 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius or -10 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius. It is equipped with 16MB SDRAM, 32MB flash memory, and operates at a 400 MHz processor speed, with some variants featuring an 800 MHz 32-bit PowerPC processor, 256MB memory, and 2GB storage. The unit supports up to 32 analog inputs, 32 analog outputs, 32 digital inputs, and 32 digital outputs, plus up to 32 200-series Fieldbus Modules (FBMs) natively, or up to 128 FBMs via the Fieldbus Expansion Module (FEM100). It offers multiple communication interfaces including Ethernet, RS-485, and fieldbus, with a 100 Mbps fiber optic Ethernet connection to the Foxboro Evo control network. Housed in a rugged die-cast aluminum enclosure with IP65 or IP66 protection, it can be installed in non-ventilated field cabinets, and is ideal for applications in power plants, oil and gas, chemical, paper, and steel industries. Core functions include regulatory, logic, timing, and sequential control, data acquisition, alarm detection and notification.
