FBM218 | FOXBORO | Redundant Output Interface Module
Description
The FBM218 is a redundant output interface module designed for the FOXBORO Compact 200 Series I/O subsystem, engineered for high-performance industrial control applications. This module features 8 isolated output channels, each capable of delivering a 4-20 mA analog output signal or a superimposed digital HART FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) signal, supporting bidirectional HART communication including universal, device-specific, and field device expert commands for HART-enabled devices.
Key technical specifications include an operating temperature range of -40 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius, dimensions of 176 x 89 x 25 mm, and a weight of 0.5 kg. Built for reliability, it incorporates module-level redundancy and channel-specific isolated power supplies to minimize system downtime and enhance overall operational stability. All output channels are electrically isolated from each other, ground, and module logic to prevent cross-interference.
The module supports both local and remote field wiring connections for flexible installation, and its compact, rugged construction is suitable for use in harsh G3-grade industrial environments. Ideal for applications in power plants, oil and gas facilities, chemical processing plants, paper mills, and steel production operations, the FBM218 provides a robust, redundant solution for critical analog and HART-enabled output control needs.
