1756-IF16 | Allen-Bradley | ControlLogix 16 Point A/I Module
Description
The Allen-Bradley 1756-IF16 is a ControlLogix 16 Point Analog Input (A/I) Module designed for high-precision industrial signal acquisition. It supports a wide range of voltage and current input signals, including ±10V, 0-10V, 0-5V, 0-20mA, and 4-20mA, with configurable channel counts based on wiring type: 16 channels for single-ended wiring, 8 channels for differential wiring, and 4 channels for high-speed differential wiring. Single-ended wiring is suitable for common-ground signals but noise-sensitive, while differential wiring provides enhanced noise immunity, and high-speed differential wiring delivers rapid data updates for time-critical systems.
Equipped with a built-in Sigma-Delta analog-to-digital converter, the module offers high resolution: 320 microvolts per count (15-bit + sign bipolar) for ±10.25V inputs, 160 microvolts per count (16-bit) for 0-10.25V inputs, 80 microvolts per count (16-bit) for 0-5.125V inputs, and 0.32 microamps per count (16-bit) for 0-20.5mA inputs. Scan times range from 16-488 milliseconds for single-ended wiring, 8-244 milliseconds for differential wiring, and 5-122 milliseconds for high-speed differential wiring.
With compact physical dimensions (130mm height, 35mm width, 118mm depth), it saves cabinet space, and features channel-to-bus isolation (250V) and channel-to-channel isolation (25V) to prevent signal interference. It supports integer and IEEE 32-bit floating-point data formats, and offers onboard diagnostics for fault detection such as open circuits or out-of-range signals. Ideal for process control applications including petrochemical, water treatment, and pharmaceutical industries, it enables accurate monitoring of continuous variables like temperature, pressure, and flow.
