Woodward 8440-2145 Generator set controller
Description
The Woodward 8440-2145 Generator Set Controller is a high-performance digital control device designed for all types of generator sets, delivering integrated automation, protection, and monitoring capabilities. It integrates a comprehensive range of core control functions, including start/stop, parallel operation, and island mode operation, to support full lifecycle management of generator sets. Built with advanced digital signal processing technology, the controller offers exceptional reliability and stable performance in demanding operating environments.
Featuring a user-friendly human-machine interface with a liquid crystal display and intuitive key panel, it enables simple, straightforward operation and status monitoring. It also provides rich communication functionality, supporting CANbus and MODBUS protocols for seamless data exchange with upper-level control systems. For enhanced equipment safety, it includes complete protection functions such as over-speed, over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-load detection to prevent damage to generator set components.
Key technical specifications include an operating temperature range of -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius, a 9-30 Vdc power input with reverse polarity protection, a pulse width modulation actuator output with a 6A maximum rating, and an auxiliary output with a 200mA maximum rating. It meets ISO 11452-1 and ISO 11452-2 standards for EMI immunity (100 V/m, 200 to 1000 MHz), and can withstand vibration of 6 Gs from 40 Hz to 2000 Hz, as well as 20 Gs shock at 45 Hz. The unit uses a Deutsch enclosure with two 12-way sealed connectors, is installed in the engine compartment (not on the engine), and weighs approximately 0.27 kg (0.6 lb). Calibration requires a dedicated interface adapter and software.
