Description

The BACHMANN SLC284 Safety Processor Module is an independent, reliable, modern safety logic controller certified to the IEC 61508 safety standard, designed for integration into M1 control systems. It features a dual 2x LPC2468, 72 MHz, 32-bit CPU configuration, supporting a single safety program per module with a minimum program cycle of 5 ms. Programming is flexible, accessible via the controller I/O bus or a serial COM interface. For I/O expansion, the module works with SDI208 or SDO204 modules, enabling distributed operation via bus extenders or FASTBUS without additional wiring between the processor and safety I/O devices. Built on the SolutionCenter development platform, it offers simplified configuration, flexible programming, and reliable simulation via PLCopen function blocks. Users can also create and reuse custom function blocks for specific applications, eliminating the need for costly single-certification methods or proprietary function libraries.
