DC551-CS31 ABB Bus Module

Description

The DC551-CS31 ABB Bus Module is a high-performance communication component in the ABB AC500 series PLC, engineered for industrial automation applications. It supports multiple industrial communication protocols including PROFINET, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP, enabling seamless data interaction with third-party devices such as frequency converters, sensors, and HMIs. Equipped with dual-port RJ45 connectors, it supports redundant ring networks to enhance communication reliability, and features a built-in web server for convenient remote monitoring and configuration without additional software.

This module adopts a compact design with a width of only 45mm, and supports DIN rail mounting, making it suitable for installation in space-constrained and complex industrial environments. It offers 34 I/O points, including 8 24VDC digital inputs and 16 configurable 24VDC digital inputs/outputs with 0.5A capacity, and can support up to 7 extended I/O modules when paired with TU551 or TU552 baseplates. The CS31 bus provides a communication rate of 187.5k bit/s, supporting up to 31 slave stations; the maximum communication distance is 500 meters without repeaters, and can reach 2km with repeaters, using shielded twisted-pair cables with AWG18 (0.18mm2) to AWG24 (0.22mm2) cross-sections and terminal resistors.
