ABB PM573 high-performance processor module

Description

The ABB PM573 high-performance processor module is a core component of the AC500 programmable logic controller (PLC) system, alongside tiered CPU models PM571, PM581, and PM591. Equipped with 512kB of memory, it offers robust processing capacity for industrial control tasks. It features a rich set of integrated interfaces: an Ethernet interface for seamless network connectivity with multiple devices, 2 RS232/485 interfaces for connecting diverse external equipment, and an FBP interface for specialized system connections.

Additional on-board features include an LCD display, a set of operation keys, an SD card expansion slot, and two integrated serial communication ports. The module can be directly mounted on a CPU backplane with optional integrated Ethernet or ARCNET network interface, and retains a CS31 communication interface to ensure compatibility with AC31 series PLCs. For enhanced connectivity, it supports up to 4 additional expandable communication interfaces, which can be configured to standard bus protocols including Profibus DP-V1, DeviceNet, CANopen, and Ethernet. All AC500 series CPUs, including the PM573, are programmable via a single software suite supporting 5 different programming languages.
