Feeder Protection and Control Relay ABB REF615C-D is a member of the Relion® product series, engineered specifically for utility and industrial power systems, including public substations and industrial distribution networks such as radial, ring, and mesh networks with or without distributed generation. This compact, easy-to-install unit supports both panel and floor mounting, with physical specifications of 230 mm x 230 mm x 178 mm and a weight of approximately 8 kg. It operates with a rated voltage range of 35 kV to 245 kV and a rated current range of 1 A to 6000 A. Equipped with comprehensive protection functions, it provides overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, differential, distance, and directional protection, plus a robust ground fault protection portfolio with multi-frequency admittance protection for enhanced sensitivity and selectivity. Its control features include automatic reclosing, island operation, and load management, while measurement capabilities cover current, voltage, power, and electrical energy. The relay supports multiple communication protocols, including IEC 61850 versions 1 and 2 (with HSR, PRP, and GOOSE messaging), IEC 61850-9-2 LE, IEC 60870-5-103, Modbus®, and Profibus DPV1 via an optional protocol converter, enabling seamless interoperability and horizontal communication between substation automation devices. It offers pre-configured standard settings adaptable to neutral ungrounded, resistance grounded, compensated grounded, and solidly grounded networks, with optional advanced functions like fast fault location and arc protection.
