Description

The ABB TB852 Redundant Controller is a redundant controller connection terminal designed for compatibility with select ABB controller systems, including the AC500 and AC800F controllers. As a key component for redundant control setups, it supports reliable system operation by enabling seamless connections for redundant configurations. The AC500 controller, a flexible, cost-effective platform, offers scalable bus capabilities and works with the PS501 configuration software, while the AC800F controller features rich fieldbus interfaces, supporting controller, communication, and power redundancy, paired with CBF configuration software, DigiVis human-machine monitoring software, and additional software packages.

This terminal integrates with ABB programmable logic controllers that feature a 24V DC (19.2-30V DC) power supply, with typical/maximum power draw of 210/360mA at +24V, and power dissipation of 5.1W (max 8.6W). These controllers include a 3.6V built-in backup lithium battery, deliver high performance with 1000 Boolean operations completed in 0.09 milliseconds, and have a maximum redundant switchover time of 10 milliseconds. Key features include high reliability, easy DIN rail installation with a slide-and-lock mechanism, IP20 protection, and flexible configuration with support for multiple fieldbus standards such as Profibus DP, CAN, and Ethernet, making it suitable for diverse industrial control applications requiring continuous, fault-tolerant operation.
