Description

SPER1C1-AAJ is an ABB trip circuit supervision relay, part of the brand’s TCS series of trip circuit monitoring solutions. It provides continuous, independent supervision of trip circuits regardless of circuit breaker position, ensuring reliable detection of faults that could prevent critical circuit breaker operation. Key fault detection capabilities include identifying voltage anomalies, circuit breakage, contact degeneration, and increased line resistance in monitored circuits. A low-level measuring current (0.3 to 0.7 mA drop-off current) enables use in high-resistance circuits, while a 0.6 to 0.7 second operation delay prevents spurious triggers during normal circuit breaker operations. The relay features single or dual-color LED operation indicators to signal normal (green) and fault (red) states. It supports a complete range of rated auxiliary voltages (24V, 30V, 48V, 110-125V, 220-250V AC/DC), with galvanic isolation available between auxiliary power and supervised circuits, and very low burden on auxiliary power sources (1.3 to 3.5 VA for auxiliary circuits, 0.08 to 0.7 VA for supervision circuits). Designed for critical protection systems, it is ideal for use with circuit breakers in power generation, transmission, and distribution networks, especially for units with only one tripping coil or high-priority generator circuit breakers. The relay has a 2C/O contact configuration, supports 2.5 mm wires, and offers mechanical durability of millions of switching operations, withstanding ambient temperatures from -10 degrees Celsius to +55 degrees Celsius.
