SPDSM04 ABB Pulse In Module
Description
The SPDSM04 ABB Pulse In Module, also referenced by material code IMDSM04, is an industrial pulse input module designed for precise signal measurement and monitoring in complex industrial environments. It supports wide-range 5V to 24V pulse inputs compatible with TTL, HTL, and NAMUR standards, with a single-channel maximum counting frequency of 1MHz and a 32-bit hardware counter for high-precision data capture. The module offers pulse width recognition accuracy of less than 100 nanoseconds, enabling precise measurement of industrial parameters such as rotational speed, flow rate, and displacement. It is compatible with orthogonal encoders (A/B/Z phase) for rotating equipment monitoring, delivering motor speed measurement error of less than 0.01%.
Built with robust anti-interference features, it uses a dynamic threshold adjustment algorithm to suppress electromagnetic interference, and incorporates 2500V optical isolation between channels to eliminate signal crosstalk. It supports rising edge, falling edge, and dual-edge triggering modes to suit diverse application requirements. The module includes a built-in MODBUS interface for seamless integration with ABB DCS/PLC systems such as Advant OCS, enabling collaborative control with upper computers, sensors, and actuators. Powered by 24V DC, it operates in temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius, holds UL certification, and also supports 16-bit dual-counter mode, incremental position sensors, and absolute SSI encoders for expanded functionality.
