ABB DSDX 180A Digital Input/Output Board
Description
ABB DSDX 180A Digital Input/Output Board is a connection unit module designed for integration with ABB’s S800 I/O control system, supporting configuration with compatible digital input, digital output, analog input, and analog output modules to meet specific system requirements. Housed in an open-ventilated plastic enclosure, the board features front-panel status indicators including at least three LEDs for fault, run, and warning signals, with some units offering additional status indicators. Key safety and reliability features include mechanical keying and MTU protection to prevent insertion into positions that could cause damage from excessive voltage or current, plus a unique module identification ID that prevents mismatched module installation; if the ID does not match the system configuration, the ModuleBus host defines the module type. It supports both single-module and redundant setups, with redundant configurations available in hot standby or cold standby modes for high-reliability applications, enabling automatic system switching if a fault is detected. The board allows hot swapping of I/O modules in a fully operational I/O station, minimizing downtime. Its core functions include facilitating data exchange and communication between connected components, enabling users to load custom control logic and algorithms to monitor, control, and send commands to external connected devices, while receiving real-time feedback signals for system coordination.
