Description

The ABB DC523 Digital Input/Output Module is part of the S500 series, designed for industrial automation control systems to handle digital signal collection and control command output. It features 24 flexibly configurable digital channels that can be switched between input and output modes. As an input port, it accurately captures 24V DC digital signals from field devices such as proximity switches, push buttons, and limit switches. As an output port, it delivers 24V DC, 0.5A signals to drive actuators including relays, solenoid valves, and indicator lights, supporting precise control of production processes like workpiece positioning and equipment activation.

All channels, including test pulse outputs, are equipped with reverse polarity and reverse power supply protection to enhance operational reliability. The module meets strict safety standards: it complies with SIL3 (IEC 61508, IEC 62061) and PL e (ISO 13849-1) safety function standards, and holds certifications including CE, cUL, UL, and C-Tick. For installation flexibility, it can be mounted on local racks via the I/O bus or on remote racks using the PROFIsafe PROFINET protocol, and includes a built-in process power detection function.
