ABB AI561 Analog Input Module
Description
The ABB AI561 Analog Input Module is a high-performance component designed for two ABB PLC platforms: the AC 800M series and AC500-eCo series. It is engineered to accurately collect analog signals from industrial field devices, making it suitable for critical control scenarios including power generation, water treatment, oil and gas, chemical processing, and general process automation.
For the AC 800M configuration, the module features 8 differential input channels that support a wide range of signal types: voltage signals (±10V, 0–10V, 0–5V), current signals (0/4–20mA), resistance temperature detectors (RTD) such as Pt100, Pt1000, and Ni100, and thermocouples (TC) including types J, K, T, E, N, R, S, and B. All channels are independently configurable without jumpers or hardware modifications, enhancing engineering flexibility. It delivers 16-bit resolution, with a typical accuracy of ±0.1% full scale, and ±0.2 degrees Celsius for RTD/TC measurements, plus a minimum sampling rate of 10 ms per channel for high-speed monitoring.
The AC500-eCo variant offers 4 input channels for voltage and current signals, with a resolution of 11-bit plus sign bit or 12-bit. It uses 9-pin and 11-pin screw terminals and does not include PCB terminals.
