1756-OF8 Analog Output Module | Allen-Bradley
Description
The Allen-Bradley 1756-OF8 is an analog output module belonging to the ControlLogix platform, designed for industrial automation applications. It features 8 independent output channels, each configurable for either +/-10 VDC voltage output or 0-20 mA current output. The module offers 15-bit resolution: 21 mA to 650 nA per bit for current signals, and 10.4V to 320 microvolts per bit for voltage signals. Key electrical specifications include a backplane current draw of 210 mA at 24 VDC and 150 mA at 5.1 VDC, with a total rated power of 5.8 watts. It has a voltage or current signal settling time of 2 milliseconds, a calibration accuracy of 0.05 percent, and a recommended calibration interval of 12 months. Operational drift parameters include offset drift of 50 ppm per degrees Celsius and 0.1 ppm per degrees Celsius, plus temperature-related gain drift of 25 ppm per degrees Celsius for voltage and 50 ppm per degrees Celsius for current. Equipped with open circuit, short circuit, and overvoltage protection, it uses an R-Ladder DAC conversion method with monotonic, code-free performance. Register data is available in integer mode (left-aligned, 2’s complement) and IEEE 32-bit floating-point formats. The module can be installed in any slot of a ControlLogix chassis, and is used to control and modulate electrical and field devices, as well as transmit or retransmit signals to connect measurement and recording instruments.
