Description

TheTriconex 3008N Main Processor Moduleserves as thecentral processing unit (CPU)forTriconex Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). It executesuser-defined control logic, managesI/O communications, and synchronizes system timing across redundant processors. Built on theMotorola MPC860 architecture, it operates at50 MHzand includes16 MB DRAM,32 KB battery-backed SRAM, and6 MB Flash PROMfor secure program and data storage. Moreover, the 3008N supportsTribus communicationat25 Mbps, ensuringfast and reliable data exchangebetween processors and I/O modules. It performscontinuous diagnostics, includingmemory verification, time synchronization, and event tracking. In addition, the module ishot-swappable, enablingmaintenance without system interruption.
