ABB AO890 Analog Output Module
Description
The ABB AO890 Analog Output Module is a member of the S800 device family, compliant with the G3 standard. It features an open-ventilated plastic housing, and its front panel is equipped with at least three light-emitting diodes to indicate fault, operation, and warning statuses; some units may also include OSP or primary status indicators. Designed for hot-swappability in fully operational I/O stations, the module incorporates mechanical keying and MTU to prevent insertion into positions that could cause damage from excessive voltage or current. Each module has a unique identification ID to avoid misinstallation of input/output modules, with the ModuleBus host verifying module type definitions to ensure configuration matching, supporting both single and redundant module applications. As an 8-channel I/O module, it offers signal specifications of 0..20 mA and 4..20 mA, and can use 0-10 VDC or 0-20 mA control signals to operate industrial devices such as valves and actuators. The module holds CE certification and is built with intrinsic safety features suitable for integration with AC 800M systems.
