ABB BC810K02 CEX-bus Interconnection Unit
Description
ABB BC810K02 CEX-bus Interconnection Unit is a specialized component for industrial automation systems, designed to enable seamless communication and interconnection between different devices. It consists of two core parts: the TP857 backplane and a power/logic board. The backhouse houses CEX-Bus connectors and external power inputs, grounds to DIN rails via the metal housing, and includes external power voting diodes and fuses. The power and logic board integrates a +3.3V converter, control logic, CEX-Bus interconnection drivers, and connectors for interconnection cables. With compact dimensions of 127.5 mm depth, 185 mm height, 59 mm width and a net weight of 1.55 kg, it fits easily into industrial setups. Key features include a robust, reliable communication interface for high-speed data transmission, broad compatibility with devices like PM857, PM861A, and PM891, and easy installation and configuration. In fully redundant systems with paired BC810 units and main/standby CPUs, it supports online replacement of CPU backplanes without disrupting CEX traffic, though replacing the BC810 itself will halt all traffic to connected CEX segments. It is ideal for connecting DCS systems to other industrial equipment such as frequency converters and servo drives, enabling efficient, standardized data exchange.
