ABB DC522 Digital Input/Output Module
Description
The ABB DC522 Digital Input/Output Module is a member of the S500 series, designed for industrial automation control systems to enable signal interaction and equipment control. It features 16 flexibly configurable digital channels that can be set as either input or output ports to meet diverse on-site needs. As an input port, it accepts 24V DC digital signals, such as feedback from proximity switches, limit switches, and push buttons, to detect equipment operating status, position information, and other on-site data. As an output port, it delivers 24V DC, 0.5A signals to drive actuators like relays, solenoid valves, and indicator lights, enabling equipment start/stop, action switching, and other control operations. Typical applications include collecting product position sensor signals on automated assembly lines and triggering robotic arm grabbing actions via output commands.
Key technical specifications include an input voltage range of 18 to 30V DC, with an input current of 6mA at 24V DC. The input channels are divided into two independent isolation groups, each with 8 channels and a voltage monitoring input. Each input channel is equipped with current limiting components, EMC protection components, input status indicators, and optical isolation barriers. The voltage monitoring input sends a channel error signal via the module bus when power is lost. Available variants include 1SAP 240 600 R0001 and 1SAP 440 600 R0001 (DC522-XC), both supporting 2-wire connections.
