Description

The ABB DSCA 180A Communication Processor is a high-performance industrial automation component designed for robust industrial control system connectivity. Powered by a 32-bit RISC processor running at 400MHz, it delivers a data processing rate of ≥1Mbps and supports up to 8 concurrent communication links, enabling efficient multi-task data handling. It features 2 built-in 10/100Mbps adaptive Ethernet interfaces supporting TCP/IP and UDP protocols, 1 RS485 serial port compatible with Modbus-RTU and Profibus-DP, and an optional fiber interface that supports single-mode/multi-mode transmission with a maximum distance of 2km. The device can connect up to 32 slave devices such as PLCs and intelligent meters, and supports communication protocol stack expansion for flexible functionality upgrades. Equipped with 256MB DDR3 data cache memory and 512MB flash memory for firmware and configuration storage, it offers local data backup and retains parameters for ≥10 years after power loss. Built for harsh industrial environments, it operates in temperatures from -20 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius, withstands humidity of 5% to 95% without condensation, meets EN 61000-6-2 electromagnetic interference standards, and has an IP20 protection rating.
