Description

The ABB FM502-CMS Condition Monitoring Module is a dedicated condition monitoring component designed for the AC500 PLC platform, supporting both stand-alone and integrated condition monitoring system (CMS) setups. Its core function is to detect faults and wear before they lead to equipment failure, enabling predictive maintenance strategies that reduce unplanned downtime and improve operational efficiency and asset reliability. The module connects to CPUs, communication modules, and I/O modules via a TF5x1 backplane for seamless data exchange and system integration.

Key technical specifications include 128MB of local user memory and 16 synchronized analog input channels, each configurable for IEPE or ±10V input types. Every channel offers a high sampling rate of 50k samples per second with a 24-bit ADC, and each channel’s sampling can be independently adjusted, started, stopped, or triggered.
