Description

The ABB IIMCP02 Multibus Communication Processor is a dedicated communication processor module designed for industrial automation systems. Equipped with a 32-bit RISC processor running at 400MHz, it supports multi-task parallel processing, delivers data processing speeds of 1Mbps or higher, and can handle up to 8 concurrent communication links simultaneously. For connectivity, it comes standard with 2 auto-sensing 10/100Mbps Ethernet interfaces supporting TCP/IP and UDP protocols, 1 RS485 serial port compatible with Modbus-RTU and Profibus-DP protocols, and an optional fiber optic interface that supports single-mode/multi-mode transmission with a maximum distance of 2km. The module supports up to 32 slave devices such as PLCs and intelligent meters, and allows protocol stack expansion via firmware updates to add protocols like OPC UA. It features 256MB DDR3 cache memory and 512MB flash memory for storing protocol firmware and configuration parameters, with local data backup and parameter retention for 10 years or more after power loss. Built for industrial environments, it operates in temperatures from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius, supports humidity levels of 5% to 95% without condensation, meets EN 61000-6-2 electromagnetic interference standards, and has an IP20 protection rating for rack-mounted installation.
