Description

ABB PM783F 3BDH000364R0001 CPU Module is a high-performance central processing unit module designed for demanding industrial control applications. Equipped with a powerful processor, it delivers fast cycle times to support efficient operation of control systems. It features on-board 100 Mbit/s Ethernet connectivity for reliable communication between controllers, operator stations, and engineering tools, plus two serial line interfaces: one for Modbus communication and one dedicated to diagnostic functions. The module has a total of 10 MB of memory, with 2 MB backed by a battery to preserve critical data.

For complex control tasks, it supports configuration of eight cycle and priority-driven tasks with adjustable cycle times, along with a high-speed cyclic PLC-type task that runs at maximum possible speed. A small front-panel display provides direct access to status and diagnostic information, and a key-lock function enhances security by blocking unauthorized downloads of applications and firmware, with lock/unlock status visible on the display. It is compatible with S700 I/O modules, which can be directly inserted or used as remote I/O via PROFIBUS, with a maximum of eight modules connectable per controller. Third-party I/O can be integrated via MODBUS ASCII/RTU, IEC 60870-5-101, or PROFIBUS protocols.
