ABB PM803F PM 803F Base Unit
Description
The ABB PM803F Base Unit is a high-performance core component designed for use in ABB AC 800F Freelance, AC 800M, and 800xA DCS/PLC control systems, suitable for a wide range of industrial automation applications. It features a modular design, high reliability, and user-friendly operation, serving as the central processing hub for executing control logic, processing sensor data, and managing actuator operations. Key hardware specifications include a choice of high-performance processors: either an Intel 32-bit RISC Super Scalar processor with a maximum speed of 150 MIPS, or an ARM Cortex A8 processor running at 800 MHz. It is equipped with 16 MB battery-backed synchronous dynamic random-access memory, with some variants adding 128 MB Flash and 256 MB RAM for expanded storage. The unit delivers fast processing speeds, with 1000 binary and 16-bit arithmetic instructions completed in less than 1.0 ms, 32-bit arithmetic instructions in less than 1.5 ms, and fixed-point arithmetic instructions in less than 2.0 ms. It supports configurable I/O scan cycles dependent on fieldbus module capabilities, and offers multiple communication interfaces including Ethernet, serial ports, USB, RS-232, RS-485, and support for protocols like Modbus, IEC60870-5-101/104, and DNP3. With a maximum power draw of 7.8 W for the base unit alone, it uses DIN rail mounting, has a SIL2 safety rating, and operates in temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius. The unit measures 239 mm x 202 mm x 164 mm, with a net weight of 1.6 kg and a maximum fully assembled weight of 5 kg.
