ABB REM615C-D Motor Protection and Control Relay
Description
The ABB REM615C-D Motor Protection and Control Relay, a member of the Relion® product family, is a dedicated device designed for the protection, control, measurement, and supervision of asynchronous motors, with application compatibility for synchronous motors and their drives in manufacturing, process, and generation industries. Featuring a compact, withdrawable draw-out design for easy access and maintenance, it is equipped with a large, easy-to-read LCD display and ring-lug terminals for all inputs and outputs for simplified wiring. Core protective functions include overheating protection, motor start supervision, rotor lock protection, frequent start protection, non-directional earth fault protection, negative sequence unbalance current protection, backup overcurrent protection, motor stall protection, load loss protection, and reverse rotation protection. Four standard configurations are available, covering basic motor protection, voltage protection, power and energy measurement, and enabling local or remote motor start/stop control. Configurations B and C add directional earth fault protection, three-phase undervoltage protection, negative sequence overvoltage and positive sequence undervoltage protection, and frequency protection (overfrequency, underfrequency, and rate of frequency change modes). Advanced fault detection capabilities include machine differential, high-impedance fault detection, and arc flash detection (AFD). Optional RTD/mA modules for configurations A and B support alarm or trip functions, while a forced start function allows emergency startup of overheated motors for critical applications. It also supports IEC 61850 communication standards for seamless integration into substation automation systems.
