Allen-Bradley 1747-KE DH-485/RS-232C Interface Module
Description
The Allen-Bradley 1747-KE DH-485/RS-232C Interface Module is a specialized communication module designed to bridge DH-485 networks and DF1-compatible devices. Its configurable DF1 port supports RS-232/422 device functionality, and can also be set up for RS-422 and RS-485 devices, enabling flexible connectivity across multiple serial communication standards. Key isolation features include 500VDC isolation between the backplane and configuration port, backplane and DF1 port, and between the CONFIG and DF1 ports, enhancing electrical safety and signal integrity.
Equipped with an integrated clock/calendar, it offers an accuracy of 1 minute per month at 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit), and ±6 minutes per month at 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit). A front panel with eight LED indicators provides real-time diagnostic and operational status visibility for simplified troubleshooting. The module supports connection to most dial-up networks or direct modem links, and is compatible with manual modems, DTE-controlled answer, auto-answer, and direct connection modem types.
Built for industrial environments, it withstands 30g shock at 57-2000 Hz and 2.5g vibration, with an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit), storage temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit), and operational relative humidity of 5-95% without condensation. It requires 5V DC and 24V DC power from an SLC backplane, and must be installed or removed only after all power sources are shut off for approximately 10 seconds.
