Allen-Bradley 1756-EN2T ControlLogix EtherNet/IP Bridge Module
Description
The Allen-Bradley 1756-EN2T ControlLogix EtherNet/IP Bridge Module is an industrial Ethernet communication component designed for ControlLogix series systems, optimized for high-performance data exchange in industrial automation environments. It supports the EtherNet/IP protocol, with data transfer speeds up to 100Mbps; select variants offer adaptive 10/100/1000Mbps speeds to meet real-time communication demands of large-scale industrial systems. The module is also compatible with standard Ethernet protocols including TCP/IP and UDP, enabling seamless integration into modern industrial networks.
Equipped with a dual-port redundant design, it features two independent communication ports that support redundant configuration. If the primary port fails, the secondary port automatically takes over to ensure uninterrupted system operation, significantly enhancing network reliability. It also includes built-in network management and diagnostic functions that monitor network status in real time, detect and report potential issues, reducing downtime risks and maintenance costs.
The module supports cross-protocol communication, including compatibility with ControlNet, DeviceNet, Data Highway Plus, and Modbus TCP (requires firmware V20 or later) for interaction with third-party devices. Its dual-port Ethernet design integrates an embedded switch, supporting linear, star, or ring network topologies to improve wiring flexibility and scalability. It facilitates real-time data exchange between ControlLogix controllers and various industrial devices such as remote I/O stations, HMIs, frequency converters, and servo drives, making it a critical component for smart manufacturing and process control systems.
