Description

The Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16 is a digital DC sinking input module designed for industrial automation systems, compatible with ControlLogix configurations and the PlantPaX DCS platform. It operates at a nominal 24VDC input voltage, and can be used with AC input voltages when paired with appropriate insertion circuits or components. The module features 16 independent input points, with user-configurable Change of State (COS) attributes that bypass normal processor scan cycles for faster logic execution, making it ideal for applications requiring immediate action on input state changes. It uses a removable terminal block system, compatible with RTB part numbers 1756-TBNH and 1756-TBSH, for modular signal termination. The module supports single-rack, standalone controller setups for small, less critical applications, as well as large, high-criticality systems like remote I/O or distributed control systems (DCS). Its operating temperature range is -20 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius, with an IP20 protection rating suitable for indoor installations. The number of modules that can be installed is limited only by processor memory capacity and available chassis slots.
