Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16I ControlLogix Isolated Input Module
Description
The Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16I is a ControlLogix discrete input module designed for industrial automation systems, featuring 16 individually isolated input channels to prevent cross-channel interference. It accepts input signal voltages ranging from 10-30VDC, with a nominal value of 24VDC, and is typically used to connect discrete devices such as buttons, switches, and auxiliary contacts to capture binary or on-off signal states. As a single-slot module, it can be installed in any available slot (excluding those dedicated to ControlLogix processors or communication adapters) of any 1756 ControlLogix chassis, supporting local I/O configurations as well as remote or distributed I/O architectures. The module requires a 1756-TBS6H or 1756-TBCH 36-pin removable terminal block for chassis connection. Its operating voltage range is 159 to 265VAC, with a maximum inrush current of 250 milliamps and a voltage category of 240VAC 50/60 Hz. Backplane current draws are 100 milliamps at 5V and 3 milliamps at 24V, with a total backplane power of 0.58 watts. Maximum power dissipation is 5.8 watts at 60 degrees Celsius, with thermal dissipation of 19.78 BTU/hour. Input delay times are configurable: from off to on, it has a maximum 10-millisecond hardware delay plus user-selectable 1 or 2-millisecond filtering; from on to off, it has a maximum 8-millisecond hardware delay plus user-selectable 9 or 18-millisecond filtering.
