Description

The Allen-Bradley 1768-ENBT is a CompactLogix EtherNet/IP Communication Module designed to serve as a dedicated EtherNet/IP communication interface for Logix5000 controllers. It enables seamless connectivity between Logix5000 controllers and other industrial devices over an EtherNet/IP network, supporting core functions including I/O control, producer/consumer tag data exchange, MSG instructions, and communication with HMI devices. As part of the CompactLogix system, it integrates with a scalable Logix solution that covers single-machine to distributed industrial applications. The module works with controllers featuring the Logix control engine, which supports the Logix instruction set, task modes, and data models, and is programmed via RSLogix5000 software. Key system compatibility features include support for up to 30 local 1769 I/O modules, distributed I/O expansion with multiple I/O series such as 1792D ArmorBlock I/O, 1797 Flex Ex I/O, and 1794 Flex I/O, and seamless multi-layer network integration and routing. The module also benefits from the CompactLogix system’s rackless design, which allows simple, flexible module mounting and saves 20% to 30% of installation space compared to traditional PLC setups. All components, including this module, carry UL and C-UL certifications and meet CE standards.
