Allen-Bradley 1769-SDN DeviceNet Scanner Module
Description
The Allen-Bradley 1769-SDN DeviceNet Scanner Module is a dedicated network interface module belonging to the CompactLogix and 1769 Compact I/O product lines, designed to bridge CompactLogix programmable logic controller (PLC) systems to DeviceNet fieldbus networks. It enables efficient integration and data exchange with remote I/O, smart sensors, variable frequency drives, human-machine interfaces, and other DeviceNet-compatible devices.
Key electrical specifications include a single industrial Ethernet hardware interface that exclusively supports the DeviceNet protocol, a total power draw of 4.7W, and DeviceNet current consumption of 110mA at 24V DC and 440mA at 5.2V DC. It features one open-style 5-pin linear DeviceNet connector, with selectable communication speeds of 125Kbps (max 500m range), 250Kbps (max 250m range), and 500Kbps (max 100m range).
Mechanically, the module measures 50mm wide, 118mm high, 87mm deep, and weighs approximately 0.28kg, with flexible mounting options including DIN rail or panel, requiring an installation screw torque of 1.16N-m. Environmentally rated for operation up to 60 degrees Celsius, it meets CISPR 11 (IEC 61000-6-4) Class A Group 1 standards, with resistance to 2g vibration (10-500Hz), 30g operational shock, 6kV contact and 8kV air electrostatic discharge, ±2kV (5kHz) electrical fast transient burst on communication ports, and 10V rms conducted radio frequency immunity (1kHz sine wave, 80% amplitude modulation, 150kHz-80MHz). It operates reliably in relative humidity levels of 5%-95% (non-condensing).
