Description

The Allen-Bradley 1785-L40C15 PLC-5 ControlNet 1.5 Processor is a programmable logic controller (PLC) from the classic PLC-5 series, part of the 1785 ControlNet PLC-5 programmable controller lineup. It features dual ControlNet communication interfaces with secondary and tertiary interface capabilities, supporting hot backup configurations for reliable network connectivity. The processor has a maximum controller memory capacity of 48KWords, which can be expanded with a memory module to reach its full limit. In free mode, it can handle 2048 discrete I/O points (2048 inputs and 2048 outputs), with a maximum of 2048 forced analog I/O and 48000 non-forced analog I/O. It supports a distributed I/O architecture compatible with multiple platforms, including Bulletin 1771 I/O, 1794 I/O, 1746 I/O, and 1791 I/O modules, covering 8-point, 16-point, 32-point, dedicated, and smart modules. A battery (part number 1770-XYC) is included to retain processor RAM, and it draws 3.0 amps of backplane current at 5 volts. The battery must be replaced only while the processor is actively powered.
