Allen-Bradley 1786-RPFM ControlNet Medium-Distance Fiber Module
Description
The Allen-Bradley 1786-RPFM ControlNet Medium-Distance Fiber Module is a panel or DIN rail mountable accessory for ControlNet networks, designed to serve as a medium-distance fiber module in modular ControlNet repeaters. Key functions include converting coaxial cable to fiber media to support network extensions up to 3000 meters (9843 feet), enabling the creation of star, ring, point-to-point, and trunkline topologies to expand overall network length. It provides isolation between nodes, reducing the impact of noisy industrial environments and electrical interference, and can power various repeater modules.
Technical specifications include compatibility with 62.5/125 micro (u) meter OM1 multimode fiber cable, and a total power draw of 1.6A @ 5V DC. The module is intended for use with the 1786-RPA ControlNet Repeater Adapter Module, with up to four 1786-RPFM units supported per 1786-RPA; mixed repeater types are allowed when assembling ControlNet networks. It is ideal for industrial applications spanning large areas, high-noise zones, and hazardous locations, and features status indicators to help identify fault conditions and data errors.
