Description

The Allen-Bradley 1788-EN2DN is an Ethernet-to-DeviceNet Linking Device designed to enable communication between Ethernet and DeviceNet industrial networks. It supports two power supply options: 24V DC (±10%) or 120/240V AC, depending on the specific model, with a typical power consumption of ≤10W. The device offers configurable digital I/O points, with options of 16 or 32 points, accepting dry or wet contact input signals (24V DC) and providing relay or transistor outputs with a maximum 2A rating. It features 500V AC isolation between channels or to ground for enhanced electrical protection.

For connectivity, it supports EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, or ControlNet protocols (depending on module version), with baud rates of 10/100 Mbps for Ethernet and 500 Kbps for DeviceNet. It uses an RJ45 connector for Ethernet and a 5-pin M12 connector for DeviceNet, with a required 120 ohm termination resistor for DeviceNet networks. Operating in temperatures from 0 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius and storing safely from -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius, it has an IP20 protection rating, requiring installation in a control cabinet. It also meets IEC 60068-2-6 standards for vibration resistance, withstanding 5g at 10 to 500Hz for reliable performance in industrial environments.
