The B&R X20CP3583 Industrial Controller is a compact, high-performance redundant 24V DC PLC from the X20 series, designed for demanding industrial automation applications. Measuring only 37.5mm wide (including power supply), it is one of the most compact controllers in its class, making it ideal for space-constrained installations. It features redundant 24V DC power supply for enhanced operational reliability, along with real-time POWERLINK connectivity for fast, deterministic data communication.

Equipped with standard communication interfaces including POWERLINK, Ethernet, USB, and RS232, it offers flexible connectivity options, with an optional CAN interface available without increasing its compact footprint. The unit supports 3-slot expandability, allowing users to add compatible modules to meet specific application needs. As part of the X20 series, it leverages a distributed control architecture that integrates traditional control technology with distributed I/O capabilities, supporting connections to remote I/O stations via buses like POWERLINK, CAN, Profibus, and X2X.

Using X2X communication between distributed backplanes, it supports distances up to 100 meters without repeaters, with a 12MHz data rate and compatibility with up to 253 I/O stations. Copper twisted-pair cabling for X2X links delivers strong anti-interference performance, and users have full flexibility in configuring station and module counts to match process requirements.
