Description

The B&R X20IF2772 PROFIBUS Redundancy Module is a TUV-certified, high-availability PLC interface module from the B&R X20 series, designed for industrial automation applications requiring reliable, continuous operation. It features 2 CAN interfaces with a maximum data rate of 1 MBit/s, equipped with electrical isolation to block common-mode interference and surge voltages; note that 2 x TB2105 terminal blocks must be purchased separately for use. The module supports multiple topologies including bus and star (when paired with a PROFIBUS coupler), and can extend communication distances by cascading up to 3 PROFIBUS repeaters, reaching a maximum of 4000 meters at a data rate of 9.6 kbit/s. Its interface circuit uses optoelectronic isolation with an isolation voltage of 500V AC for 1 minute, providing robust protection against field-side disturbances.
