Discrete Output Module FBM242 Invensys Foxboro
Description
The Discrete Output Module FBM242 is an external-source discrete output interface module designed for the Foxboro I/A Series distributed control system (DCS). It features 16 discrete output channels that connect control processor electrical signals to field devices such as actuators, valves, and other industrial equipment, supporting digital I/O applications and ladder logic operations. Key technical specifications include support for output signal types ranging from 15 to 60 VDC, 120 VAC/125 VDC, and 240 VAC, with a maximum output current of 2 A per channel at 60 VDC. Each channel is fully electrically isolated from other channels and ground to enhance signal integrity and reduce interference, and it offers configurable settings including output type, pulse width, and fail-safe configuration options for enhanced operational reliability. Built with a rugged industrial design, it operates in temperatures from -40 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius, storage temperatures from -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius, and humidity levels of 5% to 95% RH without condensation; it also withstands 5g peak-to-peak random vibration and 30g half-sine wave shock lasting 11ms, and complies with IEC electromagnetic compatibility standards. Ideal for harsh industrial environments, this module is widely used in sectors including chemical, power, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical industries for process control and automation.
