Description

The FBM230 Foxboro Field Device System Integrator Module is a dedicated industrial automation component designed to integrate field device data into Foxboro DCS control databases, enabling real-time monitoring and seamless data interaction. Built on Ethernet technology with an integrated RSIC-based MAC processor, it supports protocols including Modbus/TCP, allowing data transfer and device control across LAN, intranet, or internet networks for analog I/O, digital I/O, and temperature measurement functions.

Equipped with four independently configurable communication ports, the module supports RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 standards, with physical wiring compliant with EIA specifications. It offers flexible connectivity: up to 64 RS-485 devices, up to 4 directly connected RS-232 or RS-422 devices, or up to 2000 DCI blocks. Port configurations can be adjusted via software to match diverse field device requirements, supporting direct device connections, modem links for RS-232 interfaces, and multi-point connections for RS-485 devices, including intrinsically safe units with compatible termination components.
