Description

The GE FANUC IC200MDL650 VersaMax Discrete Input Module is a core component of the VersaMax PLC system, designed to collect field discrete signals and transmit status data to the main controller for logic judgment and control. It features 32 discrete input points, divided into four groups of 8 points each, to capture signals from field devices such as buttons, limit switches, proximity sensors, and level switches. This module supports both positive and negative logic for each input point; positive logic draws current from connected input devices and returns it to the common line, while negative logic operates in reverse, requiring an upgrade to the IC200MDL650C version or higher for negative logic functionality.

Key technical specifications include an input voltage range of 0 to 30 VDC, with a nominal voltage of 24 VDC, eliminating the need for external power as it draws power directly from the rack-mounted connection backplane. It has a maximum backplane current draw of 50 mA from the 5V backplane, and each input point has a maximum rated impedance of 10k ohms. The module supports thermal derating, though no derating is required when operating at 24 VDC. As part of the VersaMax I/O architecture, it is ideal for small to medium industrial automation applications, including packaging machinery, material handling, water treatment, HVAC, and OEM equipment, providing reliable discrete signal acquisition for efficient system control.
