IC698CPE020 CPU is a core component of the PACSystems RX7i Series, designed for real-time industrial machine control. It features a 700MHz Pentium III floating-point microprocessor, delivering a standard execution speed of 0.14 milliseconds per 1000 Boolean contacts for fast, reliable logic processing. The unit is equipped with 10 megabytes of volatile RAM and 10 megabytes of non-volatile flash NVRAM; the RAM requires a CMOS battery for data retention during power loss, while both memory types store user data, programming configurations, symbolic variables, and register-related information.

Communication capabilities include a standard VME backplane for seamless interaction with other rack modules, plus two LAN ports and two RS232/RJ45 serial ports for integration into RX7i systems.
