Description
The YOKOGAWA AIP521 Control Bus Coupler is a specialized industrial automation module designed for factory-wide connectivity and subsystem integration. Its core function is to enable operation and monitoring of subsystems controlled by programmable logic controllers (PLCs), as well as various analyzers and instruments used in overall plant automation. Equipped with FCS subsystem communication capabilities, the coupler establishes reliable connections with third-party subsystems including Mitsubishi MELSEC and Allen Bradley platforms. A key feature is its support for redundant configuration, which enhances operational stability and fault tolerance for critical industrial applications. For proper installation, the module requires integration with cabinets equipped with two dedicated grounding buses: a PE protective grounding bus directly connected to the cabinet frame for grounding racks, power supplies, and other equipment, and an insulated TE anti-interference grounding bus for shielding external signal cables. The rack housing the coupler must be connected to the PE bus via a dedicated grounding bolt, using a wire with a minimum cross-section of 2 square millimeters.
