YOKOGAWA CP461-10 Processor Module
Description
The YOKOGAWA CP461-10 Processor Module is a high-reliability component designed for Field Control Node (FCN) autonomous controllers, engineered to ensure continuous operation of critical industrial processes. As a core control component, it supports full redundancy across key systems including CPU units, power units, FOUNDATION fieldbus modules, and control networks, with automatic switchover to a standby CPU in the event of a primary unit failure. This redundant design enables uninterrupted process operation even when replacing damaged modules, with automatic data transfer from the active control system to the new standby CPU post-replacement.
Equipped with hot-swappable capability (including CPU) and a fault-tolerant design featuring ECC memory, the module eliminates process downtime during maintenance or module replacement. If the active CPU fails, the standby CPU automatically detects the issue and takes over control, with all process data kept synchronized between active and standby units at all times. After hot-swapping a CPU module, the new unit automatically functions as a standby CPU, and synchronizes applications and databases with the active system without process interruption or the need for PC tools. Redundant implementation is simplified, as no specialized engineering or unique CPU modules are required; standby and active CPUs use identical spare parts, reducing inventory needs and overall operational complexity. The module is intended for use in DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and other industrial automation applications requiring high process continuity.
