The YOKOGAWA CP701 Field Control Station (including variant CP701/S1) is a dedicated field control CPU module designed for use in Field Control Nodes (FCN). Core features include comprehensive redundancy capabilities: the CPU unit, power unit, FOUNDATION Fieldbus modules, and control network all support redundant configurations. In the event of a primary CPU failure, the standby CPU automatically takes over control operations, with real-time synchronization of process data between primary and standby units to ensure uninterrupted process operation. This module also supports hot-swapping for CPU modules and other key components; after a hot-swapped CPU module is installed, it automatically functions as the standby unit, and synchronizes application programs and databases with the primary CPU without requiring a PC tool, eliminating process interruption during maintenance.
